Taking a break between a meeting and cleaning our home, I began looking back at some of our Christmas pictures. We had the best time while my parents were here, but as we were dropping them off at the airport to return home, it begged the question: why does it seem like the time you spend with the people you love most flies by while other things drag? It doesn't seem fair. Maybe it's because it forces us to appreciate the time we have together. It doesn't make the time you spend together go any more slowly, but you do cherish it more.
One of our favorite things to do when my parents visit is to drive to The Grove. Located in the heart of L.A., The Grove boasts not only a bevy of upscale shops and restaurants, but a farmer's market with many food stands where you can sit and feast for hours. You think I'm exaggerating but that's exactly what we did on our very first trip.
Since it's a tradition we cleave to, I thought I'd share some of our favorite places to go! From Barnes and Noble and Madewell to Anthropologie and the five-story Nike store, we always have a good time-especially if the day is wrapped up with a meal at Maggiano's.
