Traditions: The Pancake Race

It's that time of year again! When the cross country season is about to ramp up with Meets it means it's time for the much loved tradition: the pancake race. Breaking the team up into smaller groups themes are chosen and bright and early on an August Saturday morning a good-natured race is held, all of which culminates in a scrumptious pancake breakfast prepared by the team parents.

It is so much fun, and this year, the chilly, overcast morning made it doubly pleasant. In her third year of participation Madeline was on Team Canada and though we cheer on every boy and girl from start to finish, I may have yelled a little louder for our girls wearing red and white. Maybe it was the leaf crowns the girls wore, but I thought they had a little something extra special.

It was another great run with pancakes for all, and below you can catch a peek of all the fun!

See you for Madeline's last Pancake Race as a student in August 2017: SENIOR YEAR!
